NORTHERN CAPE
Statistics presented on this page represent a production season from 1 July to 30 June the following year.
The Northern Cape is one of the six largest seed potato production areas in South Africa. Plantings usually occur in January and February to be harvested from June to September.
The new South African variety, Darius, as well as another new variety, Eryn, constitutes a large percentage of the seed grown in this region.
