- The potato crop consists of 86% ware and 14% seed potatoes.
- Planting time:
- Potatoes are planted from October to December.
- Processing:
- Nearly 30% of the table potato crop is processed.
- Cultivars:
- The main cultivar is Vanderplank and Lady Rosetta.
- Other:
- Although the area is better known as a fruit and onion producing region, it is also an important supplier of potatoes to the Western Cape from January to June.
