Problem/ Current situation
Potatoes South Africa will be fully engaged in skills development throughout the whole industry. The available modules have been contextualised to be potato specific. More visual aids are needed to augment the learning material.
Goals
- To develop visual aids to augment the learning material for the pack house
- To produce potato production DVD using the available materials
Objectives/ Outcomes
- Farmers implementing structured learning in the form of short skills programmes and learnerships using accredited, standard learning material
- More visual aids assisting in training programme
Time frame: 2009 - 2010
Action plan
- Appoint a service provider and consultants to develop visual aids for pack house training
- Appoint a service provider to produce a potato production DVD
Success criteria
The complete development of visual aids that involve the pack house visual aids and potato production DVD.
Assumptions, Risks, Obstacles
The development of learning material might delay the implementation of skills development interventions in the industry.
