Goal
 
Potatoes South Africa’s efforts will be dedicated to contribute directly to the economic transformation within the potato industry to bring about significant increases in the number of black people that own; manage and or control the potato producing enterprises.

This will be achieved through

  1. Enterprise development
  2. Equity partnerships
  3. BEE compliance
  4. Skills development
  5. Socio economic development

The goal is to achieve a significant and meaningful increase in black people participating in ownership, management, employment and other elements of the scorecard within existing potato farming enterprises. more...

Socio Economic Development
The goals are to:

  1. Utilise cultivar demonstration and/or cultivar trials as a way of educating, training and disseminating important production and business or financial information which is necessary for successful potato production.
  2. To give farmers practical training on good potato production practices.
  3. To develop an economic Least Inputs for Sustainable Agriculture (LISA) programme that is aimed at sustainable potato production by small and emerging enterprises in order to utilise available land and maximise benefits in an integrated production system. more...
