Maizefield Lime and Logistics, founded in 2015 by Dominique Smith, is a proudly women-led agricultural supply and transport company dedicated to serving the needs of producers and agribusinesses across the region.
Built on a foundation of integrity, hard work, and deep respect for the farming community, Maizefield specialises in the supply of essential agricultural inputs such as lime, gypsum, and manure – and offer reliable transport services for a wide range of farming commodities.
From the onset, Maizefield was more than just a business idea.
Being a farmer’s daughter with a strong background in agriculture and logistics, Dominique’s mission was to bridge the gap between quality farm inputs and the people who rely on them daily. She saw the challenges faced by producers trying to access quality lime and organic fertilisers firsthand – and understood how critical reliable logistics are during peak seasons. What started as a humble operation has now grown into a trusted partner for farms of all sizes.
A close-knit team
At the heart of Maizefield Lime and Logistics is a close-knit team of four driven women who share a passion for agriculture, service excellence, and making a meaningful impact in the industry. In the front, left, is Janique Jacobs with Dominique Smith on the right. At the back are Leonie Neethling (left) and Megan Bamberger (right). Each team member brings her own strengths to the table, from logistics coordination and operations to customer service and quality control, ensuring that every aspect of the business runs smoothly and efficiently.
Agricultural product supply
We provide a carefully selected range of agricultural products to support soil health and crop performance.
Our core offerings include:
- Manure and organic fertilisers: We offer a variety of manure types and other organic fertilisers that enrich the soil naturally and support sustainable farming practices.
- Agricultural lime: We supply high-quality lime and gypsum to correct soil acidity, improve nutrient availability, and boost crop yields. Our lime is sourced from reputable quarries and tested for effectiveness and consistency.
Transport and logistics services
Maizefield also specialises in the transportation of all commodities related to farming. Our logistics services cover delivery of lime, manure, and fertilisers; transporting potatoes, bulk grains, and all harvested crops; and movement of feed, seed, and other essential supplies.
